Our Program

SunShine Meadows is a small KWPN breeding operation based outside
Edmonton, Alberta started by Maile de Goeij after her return from living for a short time
in the Netherlands at a breeding operation learning everything she could. Only a 45
minute drive from Edmonton International Airport and 3 hour drive from Calgary
International Airport.

Producing the athletes of tomorrow is an art that requires a solid foundation in the past,
as well as a vision for the future. Through the cultivation of some of the finest
bloodlines the sport horse world has to offer. Where each stallion and mare
demonstrates unique talents and characteristics and each has proven their ability to
pass these traits on from generation to generation. SunShine Meadows primarily focuses
on horses from the Netherlands, Dutch Warmbloods.

Commitment to Excellence
SunShine Meadows established its KWPN  breeding program in 2008 with the
purchase of their first KWPN mare imported from the Netherlands. We have started with
the best and accept and expect no less. Our small quality focused program ensures that
each horse receives the proper daily handling and care. In this way we are able to
cater to each horse’s specific needs and change their individual feed regime

A Lasting Legacy
Having started with quality mares from world renowned lines that people from all sport
horse breeds are cognizant of, we have begun with their legacy to create our own. In
addition to these mares, we also have highly sought after final doses of semen from
three legendary lines (Ferro, Flemmingh and Chin Chin). Our program features
bloodlines of the most successful and sought after international sport horses today. Our
focus is to develop and breed sport horses for all Olympic disciplines with superb
minds that both amateurs and professional level riders can train and ride.

The Future
By breeding to only proven stallions that are well matched for our mares, we seek to
provide Canada and North America with European quality sport horses for both
dressage and jumping. Our passion for this breed keeps us quality oriented, wanting to
produce tomorrow’s champions that are athletic but also of sound mind and character.
